3. Data processing in the TallyPad app
Local storage
TallyPad stores tallies (title, entries, amounts, timestamps) and settings (e.g. language, appearance, default currency) locally on your device by default, using Apple's SwiftData framework. Without iCloud sync enabled, your tallies do not leave the device.
Optional iCloud sync
TallyPad Pro can sync tallies across your Apple devices through Apple's CloudKit in your private iCloud database. The feature is off by default and starts only after you explicitly enable it in Settings. Sync uses your Apple iCloud account; TallyPad has no separate user accounts and the developer does not receive your tallies. You can turn sync off at any time. Data already stored in iCloud remains there until it is deleted in TallyPad while sync is enabled.
In-app purchases
TallyPad offers optional additional content called "TallyPad Pro" as a one-time in-app purchase. Purchases are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store (StoreKit); payment and account data are handled solely by Apple under its own privacy policy. We never receive payment data.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
TallyPad contains no third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. There is no user tracking, profiling, or usage analysis.
Network access
The app does not transmit data to our own servers. Network activity uses Apple services, for example when the app is obtained through the App Store, during in-app purchases via StoreKit, and – only after activation – for private iCloud sync through CloudKit.
System permissions
TallyPad does not require any special system permissions such as camera, contacts, location, or microphone access.
Deletion
Individual tallies can be deleted at any time within the app. When iCloud sync is enabled, deletions are propagated to synced devices. Uninstalling removes local app data; data previously synced to your private iCloud database remains in iCloud.
4. Data processing when visiting this website
This website (tallypad.app) is a purely static site with no cookies, tracking scripts, or contact forms. When you visit it, the hosting provider automatically processes technical access data (e.g. IP address, date, time, page requested, browser used) in server log files, as is technically standard for any web server. This data is used solely for system security and troubleshooting and is not combined with any other data source.
This website does not use cookies or comparable tracking technologies.
5. Your rights
Where personal data is processed (such as IP addresses in server log files), you may have the following rights under applicable law (e.g. GDPR):
- Access to the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Lodging a complaint with a data protection authority

6. Changes to this policy
